Jisca is doing an internship in the marketing department at BergWerk
How does Jisca experience her internship at BergWerk?
Since February 2023, we have had an eager to learn intern in the marketing department. Jisca spends a number of months with us getting to know the marketing profession. In her spare time she already follows a home study of photography and loves to be creative. Because she has no further experience in marketing and was looking for a work experience place with her job coach where she can build up her hours, she ended up at BergWerk. In this blog she explains how she experiences it at our office and talks about her projects!
How did you end up at BergWerk?
”At the end of 2022 I had an introductory meeting with mountain worker Susanne. The moment I entered BergWerk, I immediately felt at home. It was equally exciting, because I didn't really know what to expect. When I met Susanne, there was an immediate click. We had a good conversation in which we discussed what I want to achieve and where my talents lie. A week later Susanne called me with a great opportunity! BergWerk was looking for a marketing intern. This opportunity sounded like music to my ears. A conversation soon followed with BergWerk's marketing team to get acquainted. I couldn't wait to get started.”
How did you experience the intake/application interviews with BergWerk?
”Susanne received me in a very nice way and I felt comfortable with her. We were immediately on the same page and I could tell her what I am and am not looking for. Fortunately, I had done a career choice test at the UWV for our conversation. This test showed that my talents mainly lie in creative work. I don't like monotony and am always brainstorming new ideas. This is how we came to the conclusion that a job in marketing could suit me well. This is an industry where every day is different. Thanks to Susanne's help, I get this opportunity and I am very grateful for that.”
What is your position at BergWerk?
”I am doing an internship as a marketing & employer branding employee. This is, of course, a creative job where I can work with the team on online and offline marketing. This means that we are involved in BergWerk's social media channels, the expressions in the shop windows of the offices, visiting customers to create content, transforming boring vacancy texts into talking and interesting vacancy pages on the website and much more.’’
What would you like to learn at BergWerk?
“Everything that comes with online marketing! I am a studious type and get energy from learning in practice. I've always been curious about how to work out certain ideas. I would like to learn more about the do's and don'ts of designs, how to write catchy texts and how to get the attention of the target group. That is an art in itself! There is as much as possible within this field and I want to discover how I can add my creativity to this.”
What tasks and projects are you involved with at BergWerk?
”I deal with various tasks, such as creating online content in the form of blogs, Instagram Stories and social media posts. I recently wrote my first one blog about CVs in 2023. I learned a lot from this! I also post vacancy texts on various platforms and conduct market research. And I had my first company visits! I enjoyed taking photos and videos during these visits. I also recently organized a photo shoot in the office so that we have new photos of our mountain workers. Finally, I am busy preparing a photography course for my marketing colleagues.”
Where do you hope to see yourself in terms of career in 5 years?
”I hope to see myself as a full-fledged professional photographer. Specialising especially in model and portrait photography. I would also like to work in marketing a few days a week. I am confident this would be a fantastic combination and I can't wait to show my creativity in both features!”
What do you think of the collaboration with your marketing colleagues?
‘’I really like the collaboration with my marketing colleagues! Yara and Celesta are two great colleagues, friendly and fun to work with. From the start I felt comfortable in the office. If I have any questions, I can always contact them and they help me enormously. I am well guided and given the opportunity to perform different tasks and learn new things.’’
What do you think of BergWerk itself?
I think “BergWerk is a truly refreshing, fun and accessible company. All my colleagues are friendly and there is always a good atmosphere. You immediately notice that it is a close-knit team where everyone can be who they want to be. They are not only interested in you, but also understand when things are not going so well. They are helpful and solution-oriented to customers and relationships. It's also great to see them deployments for stray dogs and cats in Harderwijk and Spain. So would you like to adopt a dog or cat from an shelter? Then BergWerk is also the right place for you!
So…
All in all, Jisca experiences her internship as an educational period. Her colleagues Yara and Celesta give her feedback, tips and tricks and also leave her free to come up with creative ideas herself whenever possible. Jisca himself has taken on a major photography project. She photographed all the mountain workers. We have expanded our archive with fun action photos in and around our offices that we can use for multiple purposes. Jisca handled this project very well!
