What does BergWerk's marketing department do?

Meet mountain workers Yara and Celesta

Since November 2021, BergWerk has added a new department, namely the marketing department run by mountain workers Yara and Celesta. You may have already seen us on social media, in your workplace or in our office. We are not always in the foreground, but you can still find us everywhere. Because we are going from here to here! But what else does the marketing department of BergWerk – do besides writing this blog –? You will find out in this round of questions!

What are the tasks of the marketing team?

Yara: We really have a great diversity of tasks. It's too much to mention actually. We manage social media, visit customers to take photos and videos, conduct interviews with employees, write blogs and vacancies, create TikToks and design various offline and online marketing resources. We also regularly organize competitions.”

Why do you like working at BergWerk so much?

Celesta: ”There is no average working day with us. And I can already hear you thinking: how cliché, that is in every vacancy text. But it really is. One moment we are on the golf course together and the next I walk through a factory to see how garlic sauce is made. Everything for the perfect employer branding.”

Which customer visit stayed with you the most?

Yara: ”I really enjoyed visiting our customer Golf Course Het Rijk together with Celesta. We had several vacancies open for this company during the high season. They were looking for people for the service, in the kitchen and behind the bar. We therefore visited the golf course to create content in the restaurant and kitchen. We were given an extensive tour and were even allowed to hit a ball, or try to hit it, on the green.”

Which companies inspire you in the field of marketing?

Celesta: Marketing campaigns that are funny and current make me very happy. Think of a Bol.com that posts memes and thus responds to current events. Or the well-known, but now old advertisement from an old lady who sells her Volkswagen. That really gives me goosebumps! Marketing is not always so much about selling more products or services. It's also about people starting to like your company and thinking about you when they need you in the future. I find companies with this strategy inspiring to follow. ”

What are you most proud of from your work at BergWerk?

Yara: When I applied for a job at BergWerk, I noticed that the website was not very extensive in terms of information. The website was ready for an update and more ‘pit’. That is why I presented a presentation in January 2022 to completely overhaul the website. The presentation was positively received and we were allowed to start the project. No sooner said than done. Only this is not a project you do in 8 weeks, so to speak. It was 8 months in which we worked on the website almost day in and day out. I made the design together with a developer. The developer then started coding and building the final design. Then we could start with the biggest job: creating all 120+ pages. Our website went live at the beginning of August and I was very proud of the end result we achieved with everyone. It has become such a nice, clear and ‘volle’ website. Both job seekers and employers can taste atmosphere, get to know the mountain workers, read our informative and funny blogs and so much more. The picture became even more complete when we received so many compliments about the website.”

What is the coolest thing you have had the opportunity to do by /for BergWerk?

Celesta: It has always been my dream to go to Spain for a longer period of time to learn the Spanish language there. This dream came true last summer, partly thanks to BergWerk. For 3 months I left for the Costa Del Sol for a language course that I combined with working from home part-time for BergWerk. Then I really had the time of my life. I have met so many new people from all over the world and have had unforgettable experiences. I was also allowed to sit on the cake as icing the animal shelter ACE|SHIN visits in Mijas. During my visit I took photos and videos for the website and our social media channels. I'm a big animal lover, so cuddling with all the dogs and kittens made me really happy. I preferred to take them all home. All in all, I am super grateful for this cool experience. I also think it's great that BergWerk supports such a great goal and I'm glad I saw it with my own eyes!”
