Speed dating with mountain worker Suzanne
Meet mountain worker Suzanne
Suzanne has been working at BergWerk for 6 years now and we describe her as a real power woman. Every working day she is extremely busy filling our vacancies at MBO+ level and higher. With a heart of gold she knows how to unleash a lot among her customers and candidates. That is why we are extremely happy with such a reliable and fast switch in our team. We would like to introduce her to you during this speed date!
Why do you work at BergWerk?
”My work gives me great satisfaction. There is a lot of hectic pace, variety and contact with various people. I like to mean something to my fellow human beings and in this role I can make many people happy with new jobs or new staff. I really get a kick out of making a good match. I am also happy with my nice colleagues. I can't say it any other way! I think it's great that we are involved from work the animal shelter ACE|SHIN. I love animals so much that I recently found myself I adopted a cat from this shelter.”
Nice to hear that you are having such a good time at BergWerk! How does your working day start?
”The working day starts with a nice cup of coffee. Then I open the mailbox and take on all administrative tasks. As soon as I have that on, I will set out some new lines that will receive reactions during the day. I approach available employees, link candidates to employers and plan new conversations. You name it!”
Good job! Is it time for the 2nd cup of coffee?
”Sure! After the 2nd cup I will make calls from my ‘to do list’. For example, I ask my candidate how his job interview went or I call my client for more information about his/her vacancy. One or more intake interviews often follow in the afternoon. The rest of the day fills itself. At noon I stretch my legs and quickly run a errand in the city. Always useful if your work is close to the shops!”
You sometimes have multiple intakes in a day. How does such an introduction work?
”People can apply specifically for a vacancy, make an appointment for a career interview or walk in spontaneously. In any case, I take plenty of time to listen to someone's story. So we are not just discussing the job offer we have. Since the talks are quite confidential, I think it is very important that the candidate is at ease. Everything discussed remains within the walls of BergWerk and is only shared with the outside world with approval.”
What happens after an initial introduction to a candidate?
”I always give the candidate some ‘homework’. Have they become a little wiser from the introduction and what do they think of BergWerk's current job offer? After a few days they call me and we decide the next step. This may mean that I will introduce the candidate on a specific vacancy or that I will introduce the candidate ‘general’ to our customers. You never know what kind of vacancies are already in the pipeline somewhere. A nice personal promotion often follows on LinkedIn. The bells that follow provide new opportunities.”
You also have contact with clients. Do they resign the vacancies to you?
”That's right! Existing customers know where to find me and immediately resign a vacancy to me as soon as they are looking for a new colleague. I will go through the vacancy from A to Z by telephone and ask additional questions. In addition to the standard text, I also have background information for the candidate. Once everything is in the picture, we will see if a suitable candidate is registered. If this turns out not to be the case, we will look!”
Why should someone do business with BergWerk?
”BergWerk is a company with a soul. Open, honest and sincere. We also expect this from the people we work with. We are of added value for both companies and job seekers. We have the connections, know the entrances, and are always accessible. That's why we can save you a lot of valuable time! Because we are local, we remain sharp. Harderwijk, read the Veluwe, is a bit of the “we know ons”, but how nice is that? No number, but man!”
What would you like to say to those who find it difficult to enter BergWerk?
”Stepping in at BergWerk makes you a brave person. You dare to be vulnerable and dare to ask for help. For some, that is easier than the other. Know that we see you and our job is to help you! If you would like to make an appointment, I recommend that you just call. We will then reserve a quiet spot in the office so that we can talk undisturbed. You already know the name of the person you are having an appointment with and you can secretly cheat on what that person looks like the Our Team page. ;)”
