Meet customer service employee Elmar

Since January 17, 2022, Elmar has been working via BergWerk as customer service employee at BFG Warehousing. Before this, he worked at several small and large companies in sales office, but it was time for something new. He was looking for a new job, but unfortunately without success. Until he came to our colleague Suzanne Visch for an interview.

How did BergWerk help him get a job in Nijkerk?

When friends heard from him that he was looking for an office job, they told him to contact our colleague Suzanne Visch. So he came to us in January 2022. Suzanne had suggested him the job as a customer service employee at BFG and he was immediately enthusiastic. A second conversation followed on location at BFG Warehousing in Nijkerk. That conversation went positively and since January 2022 he has enjoyed working there and is completely in place. He now even has a permanent contract!

Elmar experienced the collaboration with BergWerk as super nice. He is very satisfied with Suzanne's help. If he starts looking for work again, he will certainly be able to find Suzanne again.

What exactly is BFG Warehousing?

BFG Warehousing is part of Bieze Food Group (BFG). Bieze Food Group consists of various service, trading and production companies in the Netherlands and Belgium, each of which contributes to the joint mission from their own expertise and shared passion for food: Together for good food. BFG Warehousing is the logistics heart of BFG in the Netherlands, which includes not only logistics services, but also support services and administrative services.

What do you do as a customer service employee at BFG?

Elmar, like his colleagues, works 4 days a week from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. During the day he is busy processing orders and complaints, ensuring that orders go out on time and has a lot of contact with colleagues from forwarding, production, planning and of course with various customers. Because BFG consists of different companies, every colleague in the customer service department has one or more companies that he/she focuses on. Elmar focuses mainly on the Epos company. They specialize in seasonings (herbs, spices and sauces) for the fresh specialist and industrial food processors.

The atmosphere at the office is really pleasant here!

Our colleagues from the marketing department at Bergwerk entered the office of customer service and immediately experienced a very nice atmosphere. Elmar was joking with his colleague and things clearly clicked very well between them. All his colleagues he experiences as very helpful, collegial and friendly. He was well trained and colleagues really take the time for you when you have a question, even when they themselves are very busy. Elmar really appreciates that! There is little turnover in the department. That's a good sign.

The team consists of nine employees between the ages of 30 and 60. At BFG Warehousing it is possible to work partly from home. In addition, everyone works 32 hours a week, so not everyone has to be present at the office at the same time and so there is always a flexing place available, in addition to sociable colleagues, who alternate.

Each team within BFG Warehousing has a team outing once or twice a year. Since Elmar has worked here, he has already been out to dinner twice with his team. There was also a large BBQ for all employees last summer and then there was a big party.

What should Elmar's ideal colleague meet?

A new employee must be stress-resistant, able to communicate well and master the basic knowledge of arithmetic. It is not a requirement to have experience. It is many times more important that you are motivated and would like to learn the trade! ;)
