Increase in statutory minimum wage as of January 1, 2025

As of January 1, 2025, the statutory minimum wage will be increased by 2.75%. Whether you work via BergWerk or directly at the employer, you always earn at least the legal minimum wage. The statutory minimum wage applies to employees aged 21 and over. For workers under 21, there are fixed minimum youth wages based on.

What is the minimum hourly wage as of January 1, 2025?

Below you will find the gross minimum hourly wage per age:

15 years: € 4.22
16 years: € 4.85
17 years: € 5.55
18 years: € 7.03
19 years: € 8.44
20 years: € 11.25
21 years and over: € 14.06

If your employer falls under a collective labor agreement with a higher salary, this of course also applies to you, whether you have a permanent contract or not. Do you work via BergWerk? Then you will always receive a personal message when your salary increases due to collective labor agreement and/or legal changes.

Check your pay slip

It is always important to check your pay slip carefully, but after a pay change it is certainly advisable to look at it carefully and ask your employer questions when you do not understand something. Although most employers make the adjustment automatically, something can always be overlooked. See if the gross hourly wage on your pay slip matches the new statutory minimum wage, especially if you were previously on or just above the minimum wage. Also check whether your hours worked and any allowances (such as for overtime) have been calculated correctly. If you see something that you think is incorrect, please contact your employer immediately so that they can explain and/or correct it.
